Portugal: Cristiano Ronaldo handed 30-day suspension and €255 fine

The Portuguese Football Federation suspended Cristiano Ronaldo for 30 days and fined him €255 for leaving the national team camp in Denmark. The disciplinary council found the charge well-founded and ruled that he had committed an intentional disciplinary offense; Ronaldo had apologized and asked for mitigating circumstances to be considered. Since the suspension has been running since late September, he is expected to be available for Portugal’s November camp, ahead of matches against Denmark on November 14 and Wales on November 17. FPF president Pedro Proença expressed confidence that the captain would return to the national team.
