Portuguese police cleared a protest camp in Lisbon’s Rossio Square early Sunday and arrested 25 people, after thousands marched against the housing crisis and protesters pitched more than 100 tents. Dozens of officers moved in shortly after 2am, while police also dismantled a camp of about 50 tents in Porto and made six arrests. Police reported seven minor injuries across the two operations, but activist group Casa para Viver said 60 people were hurt and called for a new protest outside parliament on Tuesday. The Lisbon detainees were later released and are due in court on Monday.
