Post-Electoral Dispute: A FSNC Official of Issa Tchiroma Released After More Than Ten Months in Detention

Brice Tchouo, an official of the Front for National Salvation of Cameroon (FSNC), was released on September 14, 2026, by the Military Tribunal of Yaoundé after more than ten months in detention. He was arrested on October 31, 2025, in Bafoussam shortly after the 2025 presidential election amid protests against the results. The military court found the charges against him to be unfounded. Other figures associated with the protests, such as Jean Calvin Aba’a Oyono, have also been released, while Djeukam Tchameni remains incarcerated.
