PPDT Issues Orders Blocking Azimio’s Ukombozi Alliance Name Change

The Political Parties Dispute Tribunal has ordered a halt on the registration of the Ukombozi Alliance by the Azimio La Umoja Coalition due to a dispute over the name. The tribunal instructed the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties not to approve or register the name Ukombozi until the case is resolved. The dispute stems from a petitioner who had reserved the name Ukombozi Peoples Party, preventing its use by the coalition. The next hearing is scheduled for October 29, 2026.
