President Ruto seeks to put out fires in coalition

Kenyan President William Ruto has established a joint committee to manage the coalition affairs between his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). Co-chaired by Ruto and ODM's Oburu Oginga, the committee is tasked with coordinating the government agenda in parliament and public service. ODM's representation in this committee may enhance its voice in government policies and alleviate the political tensions that had threatened the coalition.
