Nana Akufo-Addo, former Ghanaian president, arrived in Benin on April 8 as the head of the ECOWAS electoral observation mission. Ahead of the presidential election on April 12, he emphasized the importance of respecting the election results and democratic principles. Benin is preparing for a vote between Romuald Wadagni and Paul Hounkpè, with over 150 ECOWAS observers to ensure compliance with democratic standards.
