French-Senegalese rapper Prince Waly, born Moussa Magassa, died on October 4, 2026, at age 34 after an eight-year battle with cancer of the thymus and a rare autoimmune disease. He faced a long illness that temporarily silenced his voice and delayed his career, but he announced his recovery in 2021 and continued creating music, including the 2022 album « Moussa » which reflected his personal journey. He started his career in the group Big Budha Cheez before going solo and collaborating with artists like Jazzy Bazz and Luidji.
