Hajduk Split supporters chanted pro-Nazi and antisemitic slogans, including “Crush the Jews” and “Rise up Adolf,” during a march in Split before their UEFA Conference League match against Ajax. Croatian President Zoran Milanović, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Israel’s embassy in Zagreb and the Croatian Football Federation condemned the chants. Police opened an investigation and suspects are being detained; dozens of fans had already been detained for violence, while flares caused a stoppage of more than 10 minutes during the match. Hajduk Split, who won 2-1, apologised to UEFA and Ajax.
