Professor Ikhane Phillips of Olabisi Onabanjo University said geochemical and geophysical investigations could establish the gas’s composition, source and underground movement.

The trial is led by the DRC’s National Institute of Biomedical Research with international partners. Preliminary safety and immunogenicity findings are encouraging, but efficacy still needs to be confirmed; Africa CDC reports 10,444 confirmed cases and more than 5,300 deaths.
