Promotion of inclusive education: UNESCO and government note progress but face challenges

Ivory Coast has incorporated inclusive education into its educational policy since 2013, focusing on providing children with disabilities access to school. On September 22, 2026, UNESCO, AVSI Foundation, and SWBCI presented study results on challenges related to the educational paths and socio-professional integration of people with disabilities. Despite progress, challenges remain in areas such as reception, teacher training, adapted teaching materials, and professional integration.
