Prosecutors in Maradona death trial seek sentences up to 12 years

Argentine prosecutors have called for prison sentences of up to 12 years for seven medical professionals involved in Diego Maradona's death in November 2020. They accuse the medical team, including Maradona's personal doctor, of providing grossly inadequate care and abandoning him in a vulnerable state. Maradona, aged 60, died of heart failure and acute pulmonary edema two weeks after brain surgery. The defendants deny the charges, while the prosecutor criticizes their chaotic organization and serious breaches of medical duties.
