Protest over concession of King's College stalls resumption of unity colleges

The 155 unity colleges run by the Federal Government did not resume academic activities due to a boycott by parents and guardians opposing the concession of King's College, Lagos, to the Old Boys Association. Mr. Ayopo Somefun, Chairman of the Parent Teacher Association, stated that schools would remain closed until the Federal Government rescinds its decision. Additionally, the Association of Senior Civil Servants directed workers in Federal Unity Colleges to indefinitely suspend student resumption.
