Protesters scuffle with police as migrants brought ashore on south coast

About 150 anti-migrant protesters gathered in Gosport to block the landing of migrants who crossed the English Channel in a small boat, rescued by the RNLI. Clashes occurred with police during the stand-off, with some protesters setting off flares and chanting. Police supported rescue operations and enforced public order restrictions. The migrants were taken to a processing center in Kent after being rescued in the Channel, in a joint operation with a French vessel.
