PRSEB: At Mid-Point, Ivory Coast Seeks to Address Weaknesses to Improve Learning

Education stakeholders in Côte d'Ivoire are meeting in Yamoussoukro from June 2 to 5, 2026, to evaluate the mid-term progress of the Basic Education System Strengthening Program (PRSEB). The program, backed by over $465 million from the World Bank and the Global Partnership for Education, aims to improve access and learning outcomes. While progress includes textbook distribution and teacher training, delays and shortcomings persist in infrastructure and governance. Officials admit learning results have not met expectations.
