PSC dismisses three senior police officers, demotes 16

Nigeria’s Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the dismissal of three senior officers and demoted 16 others for misconduct. It also issued severe reprimands to 21 officers and ordinary reprimands to two, while exonerating three officers and reinstating some previously suspended personnel. The decisions were made at a plenary meeting in Abuja chaired by PSC Chairman DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (retd.). The commission reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy toward corruption, human rights abuses and other forms of police misconduct.
