Federal, state, and local public servants in Nigeria are set to begin a three-day warning strike from October 2, 2026, following unresolved demands submitted to President Bola Tinubu. The Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council (JNPSNC) called for a reduction and stabilization of petrol prices at N500 per liter, payment of wage arrears, and salary and allowance increases. The council activated the strike due to the government's lack of response, citing rising living costs and economic pressures on workers and vulnerable Nigerians.
