Putin presents American actor Steven Seagal as his 'best peace envoy'

Vladimir Putin designated Steven Seagal as his special peace envoy during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on September 3. The Russian president praised the actor for his attachment to Russia and his role in U.S.-Russia relations. Seagal, who became a Russian citizen in 2016, has held the position of special representative for humanitarian ties since 2018. In February 2023, he was awarded the Order of Friendship for his contributions to cultural rapprochement between nations.
