Putin rules out imminent Zelensky meeting

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday ruled out an imminent meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. He said he saw 'no point' in meeting until the terms of a possible peace deal had been agreed. The day before, Zelensky had proposed a direct meeting to end the war, but Putin refused, conditioning any meeting on the halt of Ukrainian forces' advance. Putin also vowed to continue the military offensive until Russia's war goals, including control of Donbas, are achieved.
