Putin rules out meeting Zelensky; vows to pursue war goals

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday ruled out meeting his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky anytime soon, speaking at an economic forum in Saint Petersburg. He said he saw 'no point' in a meeting until a peace deal had been agreed, and vowed to press on with the military offensive until war goals are achieved. Zelensky hit back, calling Putin 'weak' and 'choosing war again'. Hundreds of thousands have been killed and millions displaced since the invasion began in February 2022.
