PVC registration: INEC unveils online application process

Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has launched an online self-service portal allowing eligible voters to register for a Permanent Voter Card (PVC), transfer polling units, update personal information, and replace lost or damaged cards. First-time voters can complete registration online, including biometric capture, using their mobile phones without visiting an INEC office. A pre-registration option exists for those without a National Identification Number (NIN) or who prefer not to use mobile biometrics. The continuous voter registration deadline has been extended to July 24, 2026.
