Boxing: 18 Leopards reach the 2026 African Championship finals

Eighteen Congolese boxers have qualified for the finals of the 22nd African Boxing Championship, being held in Kinshasa. The decisive bouts are set to begin on Friday, October 30, 2026, at the twin gymnasium of the Martyrs’ Stadium. The listed finalists include eight men, among them Peter Pita Kabedji, and six women, including previous silver medallist Modestine Munga Zalia; four other Congolese boxers qualified directly because of limited participation in their categories. The DRC hopes to win several gold medals in front of its home crowd.
