Will I get the £100 energy payment and when will I receive it?

The UK government will pay £100 this winter directly into the bank accounts of up to 20 million households in England living in council tax bands A to D. Payments are due to start in January; students in halls are excluded, while students in eligible private homes can receive the money, with councils responsible for arrangements for people who are exempt or do not pay council tax by direct bank payment. KRA Plans to Use Till Numbers and Pochi La Biashara to Track Undeclared Income

Kenya’s Revenue Authority (KRA) is considering using data from Till Numbers and Pochi La Biashara accounts to identify undeclared business income. In submissions to the National Assembly’s Finance and Planning Committee, it proposed cross-checking mobile payment data against tax returns and eTIMS records, targeting non-filers and high-credit taxpayers. KRA says the checks cover variance cases affecting 42% of the domestic VAT register and form part of efforts to close a Ksh132 billion revenue shortfall. It collected Ksh2.844 trillion in the financial year ending June 2026 against a Ksh2.977 trillion target, and recorded a Ksh26.275 billion deficit in the first quarter of FY 2026/2027.
