Senate confirms seven FRC board nominees

Nigeria’s Senate has confirmed seven nominees to the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC), with Dr Abdullahi Saidu appointed chairman. The confirmation report was presented on Wednesday by Kamarudeen Olalere, vice chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance. The other confirmed members are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Makama, Suleiman Gidado, Louis Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Onikola. President Bola Tinubu sent the nominations to the Senate last month, and the Senate referred them to its Finance Committee for review.
