Facing the Houthis, Egypt promises Saudi Arabia unwavering support

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty stated that Egypt would respond to any military support requests from Saudi Arabia in its conflict with the Houthis, without reservation. This statement follows Houthi attacks on Saudi cities, causing injuries and damage. Cairo, which previously supported Saudi-led efforts in Yemen in 2015, sees Saudi security as vital to regional stability and its economic interests related to the Suez Canal. Egypt has a historical military involvement in Yemen, having deployed forces in the past and supporting the Saudi-led coalition against the Houthis.
