Radars, ships, jamming: How AIGF controls radio frequencies

The Ivorian Agency for Radio Frequency Management (AIGF) presented its responsibilities in controlling frequencies used in defense, security, aviation, and maritime navigation during a conference in Abidjan on September 29, 2026. It plans, allocates, and monitors radio frequencies for the government, with over 3,400 measurement points checked in 2025, and handled 54 jamming cases as well as monitored 154 ships at sea. From 2022 to 2025, authorized radio stations increased from 562 to over 2,000, and the number of sites controlled grew from 321 to nearly 700.
