Rail, port projects to cut road accidents – FG

The Federal Government stated that ongoing rail and port projects will reduce road accidents and extend highway lifespan. Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation, Funsho Adebiyi, explained that completing the Ibadan-to-Minna rail line will shift substantial heavy cargo from roads to rail. Additionally, automating port operations and updating vessel procedures will enhance efficiency and reduce port congestion.
