Real Madrid appoints Rafael Nadal to its board

Real Madrid announced on its website Wednesday that Rafael Nadal has been appointed to the club’s board of directors, ahead of its Champions League match against AEK. The club described Nadal, an honorary member, as one of the greatest legends in the history of sport. The appointment follows Nadal’s social media denial earlier this year of reports that he might run for the club presidency, calling them untrue. The 40-year-old retired from professional tennis in 2024.
