Real Madrid’s part in Mbappé-China row is over, says Mourinho

José Mourinho said Real Madrid had done its part in the controversy over Kylian Mbappé’s comments about an internet meme depicting him with former Chinese leader Mao Zedong. Mbappé, the club and La Liga apologised, but Chinese state television still removed Spanish football from its schedules. Mourinho praised Mbappé’s quick response and respectful reaction after Harry Kane won the Ballon d’Or, and said Jude Bellingham’s 11th-place finish in the voting left him astonished.
