Red Cross, SEMA visit accident scene in Calabar, condoles family of deceased victims

A joint team of the Nigerian Red Cross and Cross River State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) visited an accident scene in Calabar where a petrol tanker collided with a stationary truck and exploded, killing the driver and his conductor, and burning nearby shops and parked vehicles. Efa Nyong, the SEMA Director General, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and the affected business owners, promising ongoing assessment and intervention. Odukpani Council Chairman Etim Asido praised the fire service for their prompt response and led prayers of thanksgiving after the fire was contained.
