SODEFOR, established in 1966, has achieved 300,000 hectares of forest plantations, including 80,000 in agroforestry, and manages 2.6 million hectares of classified forests. DG Bréhima Coulibaly noted that nearly 12 billion FCFA has been returned to local populations through a co-management model, while acknowledging ongoing challenges such as illegal gold mining and uncontrolled urbanization.
