Reform pledges to suspend asylum system for up to five years and deport claimants

Reform UK plans to shut down the UK's asylum system for a full five-year parliamentary term if they come to power. All new asylum applications will be rejected, existing applications voided, and claimants deported, with no humanitarian or refugee status granted. The party also intends to abolish the asylum tribunal system, deport 90,000 appeal cases, withdraw from the European Convention on Human Rights, repeal the Human Rights Act 1998, and disapply the 1951 Refugee Convention. They propose banning visas from countries like Pakistan, Somalia, Eritrea, Syria, Afghanistan, and Sudan if deportation flights are refused, and imposing tariffs on goods and services for non-compliance.
