Rehabilitation of Douala-Bafoussam Road: 139.2 Billion FCFA Loan Agreement Signed with IDB in Bangkok

Cameroonian Minister of Economy, Alamine Ousmane Mey, signed a 139.2 billion FCFA loan agreement with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) on October 13, 2026, in Bangkok to rehabilitate the Douala-Bafoussam road. The loan has a 20-year term with a five-year grace period, but the interest rate and repayment details were not disclosed. The agreement was approved by the IDB's board of directors on May 19, 2025, during its 360th meeting.
