Removal from the FATF Grey List: Economic and Financial Criminal Court at the Heart of Côte d’Ivoire’s Success

Côte d’Ivoire was removed from the FATF grey list on October 30, 2026, after 24 months of enhanced monitoring and following the plenary session held in Paris from October 26 to 30. The FATF praised the country’s full implementation of its action plan to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. Progress included increased international cooperation, risk-based supervision, better access to information on legal entities, and more investigations and prosecutions. The report credits the outcome to President Alassane Ouattara’s prioritization of the issue and coordination among national stakeholders, including the Economic and Financial Criminal Court.
