Rescuers in Nepal have pulled a Chinese hydropower worker, Lu Haitao, and a Nepali woman, Chandika Kumari Shrestha, from the wreckage left by catastrophic flooding. Lu was rescued from a flooded tunnel in Rasuwa district, while Shrestha was found in her collapsed home in the neighboring Nuwakot district. These rescues come as over 5,000 people remain missing following the disaster that occurred on August 26.
