Reshuffle: Owona Nguini assures that Paul Biya maintains 'control of the game'

Owona Nguini, vice-rector of the University of Yaoundé I, stated that Paul Biya maintains control over decisions at the top of the Cameroonian state, despite the existence of power networks and political rivalries. He emphasized that these networks exist to create governmental elites, but the president always has the prerogative to appoint government members. Owona Nguini concluded that the institutional framework allows Biya to maintain his authority.
