RIF 2026: Think Tank RDC STRATÉGIE puts development corridors at the heart of regional integration

Think Tank RDC STRATÉGIE launched the third RDC Transport Infrastructure & Logistics Investment Forum in Kinshasa on October 26; the event runs through October 28 and focuses on strategic corridors, logistics sovereignty and regional integration. Think tank president Bodom Matungulu called for corridors to drive local development rather than serve only as transit routes, linking agricultural basins, mining areas, industrial hubs and regional markets. He also urged that resource processing and added value remain in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, emphasizing training, local content and entrepreneurship. DRC: National Service targets 40,000 tonnes of maize and expands industrial capacity

The DRC’s National Service is targeting 40,000 tonnes of maize from 10,000 hectares in the new agricultural season. At Kanyamaka-Sesse, its commander, Lieutenant General Jean-Pierre Kassongo Kabouik, is overseeing preparations and aims to complete sowing before November 5; farm machinery covers about 150 hectares a day. The site has five silos and is testing three dryers, while the complex also includes a mill with a stated capacity of 307 tonnes and an animal-feed plant. The National Service plans to double its drying, processing and storage capacity next year as it moves toward mechanized farming and industrial processing.
