Rising Prices of Several Food Items in Goma Markets

Food prices in Goma, North Kivu, have risen over the past few weeks. Potatoes, beans, onions, vegetables, and spices have all increased in price, mainly due to higher supply costs from Rutshuru and Masisi, as well as supply shortages and scarcity. This situation affects households, making it difficult for them to regularly access basic products, partly due to adverse weather conditions and increased bean exports.
