Rivers, Kwara, Gombe, Cross River: APC states threatened by Wike’s Rainbow Coalition ahead of 2027

Powerful factions within the ruling APC are increasingly concerned about the spread of the National Rainbow Coalition, backed by Minister Nyesom Wike, across APC-controlled states. The coalition, aimed at securing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, is forming alliances with opposition parties, particularly in Rivers, Kwara, Gombe, and Cross River. Wike accuses APC governors of campaigning against him while asserting that he provides a political platform for disgruntled APC members.
