Dakar 2026 Youth Olympics: Another arrest over drone use

T. Diakhate, a 38-year-old audiovisual producer and manager of the IMAG’IN agency, was taken to the Point-E police station on November 1, 2026, after flying a drone without authorization over the Azalaï hotel. He told police he was taking photos and videos at an event organized by Éditions limitées on behalf of ALI BABA, and acknowledged that he had no permit. ANACIM’s drone ban is in effect from October 29 through November 14 within five kilometres of Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games venues, and also covers designated roads and strategic corridors.
