Ruben Enaje crucified for the 37th and last time in the Philippines after four decades of devotion

Ruben Enaje, a 65-year-old carpenter, was crucified for the 37th and last time on April 3, 2026, in San Pedro Cutud, Pampanga. His devotion began in 1986 after a construction accident and lasted four decades, interrupted only by the Covid-19 pandemic. Enaje has designated Arnold Maniago as his successor, and the next ceremony is scheduled for Good Friday 2027, attracting between 5,000 and 10,000 devotees each year.
