Rubio says Ukraine has no access to Starshield, its future is ‘under discussion’

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Ukraine currently has no access to Starshield, SpaceX’s military satellite service, which is distinct from Starlink. Kyiv has requested access to use Starshield for deep strikes inside Russia, and that request is “under discussion”, Rubio said. He also rejected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s suggestion that a recent disruption to Starlink in Ukraine was deliberate. Zelenskyy said the satellites do not track antennas on flying objects moving faster than 161 km/h, affecting Ukrainian drones.
