Russia, China leaders to meet at Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping are set to meet in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, for the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). While the SCO has historically focused on economic issues, both leaders are using the summit to promote a multipolar world and present a united front against the West. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are also expected to attend, with bilateral talks planned between Putin and Pezeshkian.
