The first road bridge between Russia and North Korea was inaugurated on September 7, 2026, crossing the Tumen River. The ceremony was conducted remotely by Prime Ministers Mikhail Mishustin and Pak Thae Song. This approximately one-kilometer-long bridge aims to facilitate land exchanges and strengthen economic relations between the two countries, in a context of rapprochement since 2022. It complements the Friendship railway bridge built in the 1950s.
