Ukraine will adopt OpenAI's Daybreak cybersecurity program to strengthen the protection of its civilian infrastructure against cyber threats, providing Ukrainian teams with AI tools to identify and fix vulnerabilities. This comes as Kyiv faces nearly 6,000 cyberattack incidents in 2025, attributed to Russian actors, affecting sectors such as government, energy, telecommunications, and healthcare. OpenAI aims to assist Ukrainian cybersecurity teams in analyzing systems and reducing the time to deploy patches, emphasizing cyber defense rather than military operations. Poland has already tested these capabilities through CERT Polska, which identified six vulnerabilities in MikroTik RouterOS, including a chain allowing full device control without authentication.
