A strategic Tu-95MS bomber was hit at the Engels-2 airbase in the Saratov region by the Alpha unit of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU). President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the operation on August 28, describing it as a response to Russian bombings. Concurrently, Ukrainian forces also struck an oil refinery in the Yaroslavl region, about 1000 kilometers from the front.
