Russia: Vladimir Putin's party strengthens its majority in Parliament

The United Russia party won 355 out of 450 seats in the Duma, according to preliminary results from the Central Election Commission. This election, the first since the start of the invasion of Ukraine in 2022, saw United Russia obtain nearly 58% of the votes. Voter turnout exceeded 59%, while the opposition faced significant restrictions, with several critical candidates unable to participate.
