The United States temporarily eased sanctions on Russian diesel for six months following a phone call between Donald Trump and Vladimir Poutine. Trump announced that Russia would immediately supply over 300,000 tons of diesel, with increasing shipments up to one million tons and potentially three million more depending on refinery conditions. Russia, which had halted diesel exports in July, may now supply the US and global markets, while the European Union continues its embargo on Russian diesel since February 2023. The figures are yet to be confirmed, and Europe remains reliant on alternative sources such as the US, Middle East, and India.
