Ruto Calls for Overhaul of UN and Global Financial System

President William Ruto called for a reform of the UN and the global financial system during a summit in New York, stating that these institutions, created about 80 years ago, no longer meet current needs. He emphasized the need for greater representation of African countries in the UN Security Council and advocated for better mobilization of domestic capital for development. Ruto also mentioned UN Secretary-General António Guterres' support for Africa's permanent representation on the Security Council.
