Ruto Fasttracks Rironi-Mau Summit Highway Completion to April 2027

President William Ruto announced that the Rironi-Mau Summit Highway will be completed by April 2027, two months ahead of the initial June deadline. The first phase, from Rironi to Mau Summit, will be finished by April 2027 as part of the Northern Corridor linking Mombasa to other East African countries. Construction of the next section from Mau Summit to Malaba will begin after the first phase is completed. The highway will feature four to six lanes in different sections to ease congestion and generate revenue, with some sections expected to open before the end of 2026.
