Rwanda: Kagame Announces 10-Year Formula One Grand Prix Deal

President Paul Kagame announced a 10-year agreement for Rwanda to host a Formula One Grand Prix, with the inaugural race expected in the early 2030s. The race will be held on a purpose-built circuit in Bugesera, about 40 kilometers south of Kigali, developed to FIA Grade 1 standards. The project aims to bring F1 back to Africa, boost employment, tourism, and investment, and provide greater access to the sport for African fans.
